Who Am I?
I am Sheryl Means, no one special; just an ordinary person who feels the urge to write down the things I see, feel, and think. Writing is something I must do to feel complete. It is as crucial to my wellbeing as the very air I breathe.
I am fascinated by other ordinary people who live lives of quiet, steady perseverance. I am drawn to old things and history, the stories they tell particularly the history of women and their ordinary lives. I love to travel the backroads, follow a path through the forest, make things with my hands, cuddle with my dogs, eat good food, drink coffee, and wear cozy hand knit socks. I love my home and family. Home is safe, nurturing, filled with food and love.
This is the life I live.
I have had a life long love affair with books. I haven’t always been a reader, but I love being surrounded by books. Now that my life has settled into a wonderful state of peace I am reading and writing and reading some more.
This is my tribe. I am a wife, mom, mother-in-law, Mimi, daughter, sister, and aunt. All roles I cherish as these people give my life meaning.
I live in Texas and wouldn’t have it any other way. Born in Las Vegas, raised for part of my life in California, Texas is home.
